At the end of the summer, Davis got really excited about potty training.

He started out pretty well, but then toilet time just turned into playing with the toilet paper, getting on/off the seat, and driving mom nuts.  

Davis still isn't potty trained...

A few funny things Davis has been saying lately:

• "This is my brand new______."  He says this about everything, even toys he's had for a year. 
• "This is my new favorite ________."  He uses this phrase in reference to toys, movies, songs, etc.
• "That would be great (or perfect) for me!" This phrase follows suggestions made by me about what to eat for breakfast, details of our plans for the day, etc. Davis will also say this phrase when he suggests something, especially if he knows I won't like it (e.g. "I want to eat popcorn (for breakfast). That would be great for me!"). 
• "WHY?"
• "Huh? What?"
• "What did you say?"  (Tonight I told Davis thanks for listening and he said, "Huh? What did you say, mom?")
• "I can't" (translation: "I don't want to")
• "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!"
• "Oh Gosh!"
• "I won't EVER!!!"

Fall Adventures

Because of Davis's special astronaut appearance at Russ's office on Halloween (see Halloween post), Russ's boss asked if Davis could be in the film they were working on that day.  So we headed down to Provo one morning so Davis could be filmed.  Note: he was very uncooperative and didn't want strange people holding him.  However, he did look adorable so we took some pictures:

I also found a few random pics we took this summer.  Russ and I went to Park City for a couple of days in July.  Russ found a sweet deal on a 3 bedroom suite at the Sky Lodge, and we felt very spoiled to stay in a place with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, 2 living rooms, a dining room, a pool table and 2 hot tubs...so cool!!  Here is just one view of the place:

Russ and his scouts made canoes out of cardboard and duct tape.  They took them to Tibble Fork Reservoir to test them out.  Let's just say the leaders' canoe didn't last very long...but they had fun!

Halloween 2011

We went delivered some treats to Russ's office on Halloween.

Davis wore his astronaut costume, and they just happened to be doing a photo shoot with one of Russ's coworkers dressed up as an astronaut.

This led to Davis being part of the photo shoot.

And then he got invited to be a part of the film shoot a few weeks later.
