Grandpa's Tractor

I was sick for my grandparents' Halloween party, so grandma sent some Halloween games for mom and me to play together.  I missed out on the "tractor ride" to pick out my pumpkin.  So when I got better, mom took me to Kaysville so grandpa could take me for a ride.

I get to wear special "headphones" when I ride the tractor.

Grandpa let me sit on his lap and wear matching gloves.

Mom took a thousand pictures hoping that one would turn out.
One did.

Grandpa took me all around his backyard.

I love grandpa and his tractor.

Carving Pumpkins

This sequence of pictures pretty much sums up our pumpkin carving experience this year:

Davis wasn't a huge fan of pulling out the pumpkin's guts (he takes after his mother), but he was very interested in picking the seeds out of the removed innards.  He was also extremely fascinated with stirring the seeds, which he did for about a half hour.  I drew a pumpkin face on a piece of paper for Davis to approve.  He wanted it "more spooky," so I added devilish eyebrows (limited by my lack of drawing ability).  Russ did the carving, I roasted the seeds, and we were done.  The end.

Trick-or-Treat

Halloween was a big success at our house. Davis woke us up on Halloween morning by toddling into our room and saying, "Mom it's Halloween!" He was pretty excited.  But who wouldn't be if you got to wear this cool astronaut costume?!

Unfortunately, I think that was the best pic I got of it...
The costume had a cool metallic helmet, but Davis would only wear it when we went to hand out chocolate-dipped oreos at daddy's office earlier that day.
Except for about thirty seconds when we got home from dad's office, but he wouldn't look at the camera.
Notice the helmet sitting in my lap...
We did get him to wear his snow boots with the costume, but this is the best pic I have of them:
He was very focused on eating m&ms that he had received...

One of Davis's favorite parts of the night was answering the door for trick-or-treaters.  Davis wanted to help so badly, that we took the child lock off the front door and let him answer the door while Russ and I sat on the couch.  Davis would hear a knock, run to the door, open the door, walk to the entryway table to get the bowl of candy, take it to the door, say "choose one," take the candy back to the table, and then close the door.  It was so adorable!! (and so much more relaxing for me!)

Davis had so much fun trick-or-treating and eating candy that he still asks daily if we can go trick-or-treating.  And he carried his "Halloween bucket" around for the whole week before Halloween (he'd fill it with random things like keys, cars, papers, unused BYU tickets he found on the fridge...oops!)
